It was a question of transforming an office space located on the ground floor at the back of a courtyard of a Molie ’e
Street in the first arrondissement in Paris, into a watchmaker’ shop and housing unit o three floor. This project could be
seen as a theoretical project, an architectural exercise on the theme of the ‘ox’ how to illuminate a space on three
levels with only one glass roof? Actually, the space has only one window above the courtyard: It is lit essentially by
one large horizontal window situated over the courtyard which lets the natural light into each of the three levels. Each
chamber is a separate unit, lit by this window, and opens onto this central space shared by each unit.
