The Velo Towers designed by Asymptote Architecture - Velo signifying movement, perfect rotation and dynamism - are
an elegant and powerful statement for Seoul and its future. The Towers are designed to the human scale and take into
account our symbiotic relationship to our environment and well being. Each home in the sky provides a unique and
inspiring aesthetic experience looking over the new park, museum and the new Yongsan district masterplan.
The Velo Towers’ innovative design features a modular facade composed of cast composite panels that are fabricated
using the latest computer building technology. These panels produce the desired effect of differentiation and unity
across the facade while providing expansive views from each residential unit. The building also uses a cantilevered
structural system that allows the residential floor plates to project out towards the view and float above the ground to
offer the residents the possibility of roof gardens in the sky. The rotation of the stacked building volumes further
optimizes access to natural light and exterior views while creating a unique and dynamic architectural composition.
This distinct silhouette creates a new distinct residential landmark. Within the two approximately 160 meter tall towers
there are a total of 502 units which offer a variety of layouts including luxury penthouses on the upper most floors.
A spectacular double story horizontal structure spanning the towers 122 meters above ground level houses amenities
including a gymnasium, swimming pool, full service spa, cafe, media room, and recreation rooms. The top of this
“sky bridge” also acts as a private terrace for the penthouses. The 3 story plinth spanning the towers above lobby
level, houses residential units distributed around an internal garden level. The ground levels of the towers contain
lobbies, cafes, a senior center and a library surrounded by a contemporary landscape that reflects the cutting edge
qualities of the Velo Towers.
