The project is making the AutoPlex, an automotive parts center in the ‘knowledge industry center cluster’ having IT,
BT and AT industries in the ‘Songdo Science Village Expanded Industrial Technology Complex’. The design concept
was a ‘speedway’ speeding toward the future; in consideration of project site and complex characteristics of the
project. The project site Songdo Science Village will become the center of state-of-the-art industries and the Mecca
of Korean automotive parts industry, which is one of the power-house of Korean economy. Planning for the AutoPlex
focused on making four blocks, which are: the ‘core block’ which will be the symbol of state-of-the-art
high-technology, the ‘industrial block’ with specialized research facilities, the ‘development block’ which is for sale
and rent and the ‘eco-block’ which will have environment-friendly energy system. The AutoPlex planning suggests a
new concept complex model which will lead the new trend of automotive parts industry.
